1st Hope Church Leeds Sports Fest
We are all set and ready for the Hope Church Leeds Sport Fest- Hopelympics. This year’s event is the first every sports fest for the Church and it will be held at East Leeds Community Leisure Centre on the 4th of July 2009. All four Care Groups, with the Youth Group, will vie for the top place to become the best of the best.
All Care Groups will present its own banner and will perform a brief ‘Battle Cry’ cheering at the start of the games. After that, 8 games event will be played, one of them is the much awaited Caterpillar race, where participates will wrapped their legs to the person it front of them while seated, and they have to race to the finish line using only their hands.
The games will be officiated by the Los Tres Amigos composed of Bro. Ronald, Bro Lito and Bro. June. One official, who could not be named, said that “The games are not only challenging and strenuous but it will also require the participants a tough mental stamina in order to survive.” Indeed, this is not just an ordinary Sports Fest, games such as egg relay and pillow case race are not for the weak hearted one.
