Press On 3G! Go, Grow and Glow

Hope Church Leeds celebrated its 7th year anniversary

31 August 2008, Hope Leeds Community Church celebrated its 7th year with the theme ‘Press on… 3G! Go, Grow & Glow.’ As Ptr. Roger ‘Ogie’ Gantala explained, a church needs to continue moving forward, helping each member to grow in faith and to glow as a testimony of Christ’s love so other would follow. Hence the words go, grow and glow.

The Spirit is much alive within when the Praise and Worship team, lead by Sis Caren, started the service. Sis Lorisa presented a brief Church history with a slideshow of past photographs, telling everyone how Hope Church Leeds came a long way since it was started by three young nurses in 2000.

To top it off, Hope Leeds Kids went centre stage with their rendition of ‘If I were a butterfly’ song, followed by the Hope Leeds Young People who did a superb pantomime entitled ‘The Chain of Sinning’, accompanied and choreographed by Ptr. Fernando Bello.

Ptr. Ogie delivered his message concerning Christians' mindset toward the past, present and the future. “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 3:12-14 NIV)
